Over fifty years have passed from the end of the Vietnam War. The effects the Covid pandemic have finally waned, and two old soldiers once again embark on a long-distance hike the Tuscarora Trail from Virginia through West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
As they hike along the trail, they reminisce about their time in Vietnam many years ago. Traversing the rugged trail, they hike with young people, sharing their stories of the long-ago war and offering father advice to inexperienced hikers they encounter. The experience is cathartic for both of them as they share their life experiences.
They tell stories about that distant war and meet fellow veterans along the way, sharing their stories and their traditional “Welcome Home” to their fellow veterans.
This novel is the final book in the Paul Tyler “Vietnam Advisor Series”. It allows the reader closure on some of the previously told stories. As a long-distance backpacker, it provides the reader with a wonderful overview of the beautiful and rugged 250-mile alternate to the Appalachian Trail.
Available in Kindle e-book format, paperback, hard cover and Large Print.
